We are developing an exciting new Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia training strategy with the support of a research grant from the National Institutes of Health. MemoryCarePro© is a mobile educational software application for professional direct care providers designed to always be at hand. In partnership with assisted living facilities and personal care agencies, we are identifying educational needs and salient characteristics that motivate training. Incorporating insights into our software, we will seek to transform the paradigm for training the growing number of professional caregivers who provide personal direct care to older individuals with cognitive impairment.

We have developed a web-based service with mobile software application that incorporates the core tenets of Proactive Dementia Care (PDC) in portable, tablet and smartphone) and desktop computer formats. MemoryCarePartner© provides users with up-to-date personalized information and resources throughout the entire span of the care journey – from the first signs of memory problems through end of life care. We extend access to these essential memory loss and dementia services to a broader audience, particularly to underserved communities and individuals living in rural areas and lack access to specialized memory care diagnosis and management professionals.
We are currently working on several additional projects which will expand use of our platform to provide essential dementia care training to staff of assisted living and long-term care facilities, and provide family caregivers with the guidance and information they need to optimize their legal and financial planning for an adult with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.
